Over Sibe Jan Koster

I work in oil, watercolour, charcoal, sanguine and ink. My work moves between observation and interpretation, between the tangible landscape and the emotions it evokes in me. The notion of construction captures this process. A sense of longing runs through much of my work: perhaps for a particular place, a moment or an experience that cannot be fully grasped, yet comes briefly within reach through the act of painting.
